I enjoy finding diffident old bottle in the many lakes up north at the end of old piers, and underwater dumps, in front of old camps. Horseshoe lake was one of my favorite spots. If you like to know more.I live at Camden N.Y.

Hmmm, somehow the bottle is not the important detail! I guess it needs to be translucent so you can see the note inside...and eye catching. Something cobalt blue is always attractive or perhaps a plain blackglass bottle - a round blackglass cylinder with a big cork in it is the archetypal message-in-a-bottle bottle to me

I would like to propose and the idea I had was to put a message in an old antique bottle and have her find it on the beach with a note inside, so I was wondering if you'd have a good one for that?

I have been collecting old bottles for over 47 years and there are many different ways finding old bottles, mind is diving for them in in lakes in New York State. Some under water dump are in fifty feet of water like blue MT. Lake and some are found in ten feet or less like horseshoe lake one of the smallest lakes up north.Which yieled me hundren of maple syrup bottles nine different sizes, soda bottles in the same lake from belfast Irland stacked up like cord wood by the hundren. Onondaga Lake at the end of old piers finding stoneware soda bottles. In my back yard behind the post office in Camden NY. in less thin eight feet of water pulled out over four hunden pieces of different bottles. of course rivers are great to dive in . Mose river being one of them takeing out soda bottles with the saying F.C. Banker Fulton Chain. N.Y. Its a lot fun. Though I am getting up in age If I can strap that Tank of air to my back I am in the water. So what ever way you get bottles Keep digging.
